Rebuilt C4 Automatic Transmission
- The C4 3-speed automatic was Ford's first truely all-Ford designed and built automatic transmission. Borg-Warner did most of Ford's automatic transmissions prior to that.
- From 1964-66 the C4 was a dual-range automatic transmission but was then ditched in 1967 to accomedate the more traditional P-R-N-D-2-1 shifting pattern.
- Professional built C4's using a 26/26-spline shaft was said to withstand up to 600 horsepower and the corresponding torque.

- The A-727 was available in two primary options; the standard model, typically found in large rear wheel drive vehicles. And the heavy-duty model which was found in their 1/2, 3/4 and 1+ ton trucks.
